If you're wondering...I am a fan of many things...the art from movies, games, certain books, and tv shows have been the motivation for art. And recently, more of an emphasis on people too.

Should I draw more original content or fan art?

The Good, The Bad, And The Blegh

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 27, 2014, 9:25 PM
  • Mood: Optimism

So, it's been a while since I've written anything, and that's pretty much for a good reason.

In a nutshell, I have found love, moved out to save costs on gas to the school, and things are starting to look good. The classes I've at at the Art Institute of San Diego have been time consuming, but not as much as the club I had helped create and have since left. And I recently found out my oldest brother has stage 4 cancer in the last week.

As for my love life...I'm content, and I know what the next steps are.

As for the club;
Meetings for the projects originally started off as two days a week, for several hours at a time, only to progress into meeting 6 days a week for 8 hours at a time. People were respected initially, but eventually we were treated like total crap. So several of us got to talking about it and left, and apparently that was all it took for it all to break apart.

The moral of the story is, make sure you get paid if you do any work, especially if anyone mentions the word "studio".

As for my brother, I don't really have the words to say. I try not to think of it, instead finding other things to do, but it's pretty depressing all in all. This is the brother who introduced me to video games, and the guy I can, to this day, never beat in Street Fighter II. He's positive he can beat it, but I don't know what's around the corner one way or the other.

...So life's good in some areas and terrible in others. I've overcome a lot, but there's a lot more to be overcome, but I'm going to make it through it.
