The Legend Of Roses - The Adventure Of PBG by PhilWiesner The Legend Of Roses - The Adventure Of PBG by PhilWiesner
A request from the amazing PushingUpRoses to draw Peanut Butter Gamer and herself as Zelda characters.

This was one I personally felt honored being asked to do it, as I am a pretty avid fan of the Zelda series (just not up to date as I can't afford the initial game systems).

I felt pretty spiffy about drawing PBG, who is a fellow Zelda fan, as Link...but I decided to change it up from the norm and went with Twilight Princess Link's Ordon clothing. It just suited PBG better in my mind. As for the arrows and where he gets them, anyone who's seen the Zelda cartoon knows they shrink down to fit in his pouch/pocket. (Saw parts of it, never finished it, but apparently Link says "Excuse me, Princess" about 37 times in 13 or so episodes.)

As for Roses, I wanted to draw her much in the same style as Ordon Link PBG...but there wasn't a character that truly fit her without being from another game...so I chose Din from Oracle of Seasons and adapted the costume to be more in line with Twilight Princess, taking design elements from Telma from TP. Din = Dancer. Roses has MJ Experience. It's all logic from there.

As for the art, I decided I needed to take it to another level with the art and mixed my own ink for this as well as applying some basic airbrushing to it. Still getting the hang of all that...but apparently doing that caused a LOT of problems with the skintones on PBG where it ended up making him look a lot paler than Roses (who was only a little darker skintone wise for how tan Din is).

That I did, kinda referenced an old OoT art pose when I was drawing PBG. :D

If you envy from afar you miss out on the drawn cake and cookies on that drawn table over there by the corner.

This is really an amazing piece of artwork. The coloring is gorgeous, and you captured both PBG and myself perfectly, I can tell it's us. The foreshortening on PBG's arrow is wonderful, you rock at proportions. I love it.
